Jessica Ennis vows to cut out mistakes ahead of London 2012

Jessica Ennis has promised to cut out the errors that stopped her picking up a gold medal in the heptathlon at the World Championships in Daegu.

She admitted that a poor showing in the javelin had cost her as she had to settle for a silver medal.

One of Team GB’s greatest gold medal prospects for London 2012, Ennis says she will now turn her attention to the Olympics and ensuring a solid performance in every event.

Team GB triple jump gold medal hopeful Phillips Idowu stormed to a comfortable victory at last night’s Rome Diamond League.

The 32-year-old’s second round jump of 17.59m was good enough to secure a win. His nearest rival was Sweden’s Christian Olsson who jumped 17.29m.
