Blade Runner Oscar Pistorius is not yet certain to run at London 2012, according to South Africa’s Olympic Committee (Sascoc).
The 24-year-old was widely believed to have secured his place at the Games when he ran the Olympic “A” qualifying time in July. But Sascoc has confirmed that Pistorius will have to meet the qualifying time again closer to the Olympics in order to compete.
Sascoc chief executive Tubby Reddy said: “Within three months of the Games, if he runs that time he qualifies.
“Many people have said he has run that time already, however, he has not qualified.”
Pistorius is battling to medal at both the Olympics and Paralympics in 2012.
