Women boxers at London 2012 could be wearing skirts. The move has been touted in a bid to differentiate the female boxers from their male counterparts.
The Amateur International Boxing Association has asked women boxers to consider opting for skirts, but only two nations – Poland and Romania – adopted the attire for the recent European Championships.
Poland went as far as to make skirts compulsory.
Coach Leszek Piotrowski said: “By wearing skirts, in my opinion, it gives a good impression, a womanly impression.”
