Britons who missed out on tickets in the official London 2012 ticket draw have until 11pm tonight to register on a French website selling tickets on a first come, first served basis.

The French authorised re-seller Eventeam closes its ticket registration this evening. There is no geographical restrictions on who can buy the tickets, even though they have come from the French IOC allocation.

Users who register on the site before tonight’s deadline will have a 48-hour period to buy tickets from 13 June. Any remaining tickets will then go on general sale through the site.

Eventeam marketing director Benoit Vincent has done a bit of a Basil Fawlty-style sales pitch to drum-up your interest. He said: ”We can sell to anybody interested in Britain but we are not allowed to communicate about it.”

He mentioned it once, but I think he got away with it.

Visit before 11pm tonight to register for your shot at the first come, first served tickets on 13 June.
